Create a New Email

There are three locations in Encharge that you can create a new email from:

  • The Emails page.
  • From the Send Email Action Step in a Flow.
  • And when creating a Broadcast

Create a new email from the Emails Page

Think of the Emails page as the email manager of Encharge.

To create a new email click on the blue plus button at the bottom left. You will be prompted to choose between adding an email with the Drag and Drop editor or the Simple editor. Both types of emails can be used in Flows and Broadcasts.

Create a new email from the Send Email step

When you're in a Flow, you can create a new email straight from the Send Email step. No need to go to the Emails page.

Create a new email when creating a Broadcast

Similarly, when you're creating a new Broadcast you get the option to create a new email. No need to go to the Emails page.

Build an email with the Drag and Drop email builder

Regardless of where you create the email, you will build your email by using one of the email builders in Encharge:

  • Drag and Drop email builder
  • or the Simple email builder.

In this section, we're going to explore creating a basic email with the Drag and Drop editor:

The Drag and Drop Editor is a fully functional HTML editor that allows you to build visual emails and complex layouts. However, building a basic email in it doesn't have to be complex.

First, complete all of the fields at the top of the editor:

  • Email name – this is only visible by you.
  • Subject line.
  • From email – the email that your users will see. Note that you can use different emails, as long as you have permission to send from this email.
  • From name – your name.

In the middle section, you have the content of your email. You can remove a section by hovering on it and clicking the trash can icon.

To move a section use the move icon and drag the section to your desired location:

To add a new section, drag a block from the right sidebar:

Once you're happy with your email, make sure to test it by clicking on Send Test at the top right. By default, the test is sent to your login email address, but you can also send a test to a different email address by clicking on the arrow in the button:

Once you're done with the email, click on Save and Close. Also, note that Emails are not automatically saved, so make sure to click on the Save button from time to time to ensure that your email is saved.

If you're creating your email from the Emails page, you will be taken to that page once you click on Save and close. If you're creating it from the Send Email Step once saved the email will be attached to the step.

Build an email with the Simple email editor

The Simple email editor allows you to create plain text emails – the type of emails you'd create when writing an email manually from Gmail or a similar email client.

The required fields on top are the same as the Drag and Drop Editor:

  • Email name – this is only visible by you.
  • Subject line.
  • From email – the email that your users will see. Note that you can use different emails, as long as you have permission to send from this email.
  • From name – your name.

However, the actual editor is quite different. With the Simple Editor, you don't get the option to design custom templates or add visual elements.

You can still format the text of your email content using the toolbox at the top to make your text bold, italic, and so on.

Note that currently, it's not possible to add images with the Simple Editor.

That's it! You just created an email with Encharge.
