Action - Send Slack Notification
This action sends Slack messages to a specific Slack channel in your Slack workspace.
How to connect Slack?
In order to use this step, you need to connect your Slack workspace to Encharge. To do that go to your apps click on Slack, then click on the "Add to Slack" button and log into your Slack workspace.
Alternatively, you can connect to Slack directly from the Send Slack Notification step in the Flow builder.
Note that you can only have one Slack workspace connected to Encharge.
How to set up Send Slack Notification action?
Start by entering the title of the message (Message Name). This is optional and it's only visible by you and your team. It's used to identify the message in the Flow builder.
Then, select the channel you'd like to send the message to. You will see a list of all of your channels in Slack. To post a message to a private channel, you need to invite @encharge to the channel first. Otherwise, the channel will not be available for selection.
Then, populate the message, and save the step.
Finally, ensure that the Send Slack Notification step is connected to at least one trigger.
Using merge tags
In your message, you can use merge tags to send dynamic values like the person's email and name.
Pro tip: To add a link to the person's profile in Encharge use the following merge tag https://app.encharge.io/people/{{person.id}}
.
Using mentions
You can also mention team members in your Slack message. Simply enter @ followed by the name of the person you'd like to mention. For example: @kalo
